This is the full soundtrack to A Bardic Tale: The Troupe to Cerddoriaeth, a game jam project I worked on for the 2025 Road Trip Game Jam. Our small team of four made a game demo in roughly two weeks. The game has you play as a mercenary that guides four medieval bards to a city for their final performance.

I'm proud of these compositions, and I'm pleased with the diligence I displayed while making them. Sometimes a two-week deadline will just kick you into gear. 'Limitation breeds creativity'—does limitation of time count?

I had never written medieval/Renaissance music before this, and I enjoyed the challenge of figuring that out. I realized I wouldn't be able to write 100% period-accurate music in two weeks, and after pondering over my direction some, I thought about how the songs I wanted the project to sound like weren't completely pure in their authenticity either. What I eventually wrote came out as a bit of a hybrid between modern and ancient. Some sticklers may wag their fingers at that approach, but I wrote something I would want to hear in a medieval fantasy video game. It's sometimes as simple as that.

-Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) by John Williams; specifically "Window to the Past", "Sir Cadogan Again", "The Great Hall Ceiling", and "Entr'acte".
-"The Place I'll Return To Someday" by Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy IX)
-"Harvest" by Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy V Pixel Remaster)
-"Serenity" by Masayoshi Soken (Final Fantasy XIV)
-"Temple" by Akito Nakatsuka (Zelda II: The Adventure of Link)
