SYNOPSIS:
Carlito “Kado” (Adriano Visagie) is a promising young Namibian whose life takes a sudden plunge when he’s convicted of fraud and sent to prison. Inside the correctional facility, Kado faces a brutal reality: he is vulnerable and naive in a world ruled by gangs, hierarchy and unwritten codes of power. He becomes drawn into the circle of the feared “General” (Monray Garoeb) and the internal power dynamics of the cell. Meanwhile, his pregnant girlfriend is left outside trying to cope with life while he serves his sentence. As Kado grapples with survival, loyalty and identity in the harsh prison environment — including the stigma surrounding homosexuality and HIV in the institution — he’s forced to confront what he must become to make it out alive. In the end, the film offers no easy redemption, but issues a powerful commentary on incarceration, marginalisation and the fight for dignity.
