On our first day in Ho Chi Minh City, we had an immersive local experience and got a glimpse of how people live on a small island near the bustling metropolis. We traveled two hours by speedboat along the Saigon River to Thiềng Liềng, a tiny island where we experienced the simple, laid-back lifestyle of the residents.

The locals mostly rely on their own resources, with traditional salt harvesting being their primary source of income, alongside the fishing industry. We sampled some local food on the island and discovered a variety of unique drinks they produce. To top off the day, we were honored with an invitation from the Vietnam Tourism Board to attend a phenomenal Gala Dinner!
