Alexa Ann Bonomo is an interactive artist and designer, and lecturer at the University of California, Davis. Her design practice consists of interdisciplinary processes within new media, computation, and psychology. Alexa turns marks, pixels, and computer memory left behind and uses them as an artistic medium to reveal substance and personal meaning that is normally left unrevealed and forgotten.

Alexa will present her recent conceptual work that was showing in the show memory.unshift() at axis gallery. “Pulse of Anonymous Memories” is an ode to memory represented by floating projections that animate to the beat of ones heart in real time using a sensor. “Handmade dataset” is a web based project that attempts to capture a memory with a loved and print it out from a printer. It is also realization that it will never be possible to encapsulate a memory the same as when it was experienced.
