March 2014: Four art students vanished in Ozark National Forest while documenting abandoned homesteads. Emma, Chris, Ashley, and Tyler were experienced hikers on a photography project. They discovered an ancient well at a collapsed frontier settlement—then everything went wrong. Seven years later, a geological survey team found the well and sent a drone down. At 55 feet, where the shaft narrowed to just 18 inches, they discovered four sleeping bags suspended from rotted beams. Inside were the students' remains—positioned in a space no human body could physically fit through.
