Anson was a leading bandleader on America's West Coast from the 1920s till the 1960s, and the number one dance band in San Francisco. In the 1950s he returned to the recording studios to make a number of LPs; rather nostalgic in nature. Anson's original residency at the Hotel Mark Hopkins was a high point in his career; the recordings made for broadcast in 1932 are amongst the very best dance band performances of the whole big band era. His orchestra on the recordings you hear in this upload was much smaller, and on this album we have an unidentified singer. I don't have a recording date, but I presume late 1950s.

There is a difference in song title between the sleeve and label, as you will see. The beautiful Rodgers & Hammerstein song, "If I Loved You", appears on the record label as "I Love You"! In addition, the vinyl is a transparent blue!
