Hold me in your arms - Maana ngaanya jaalbada

I am humbled by the song of the land. To receive the fullness of this song moments later after swimming in the Bellingen River on Gumbaynggirr Country in the Thora Valley earlier this year at Love Fest. An ode and prayer to the waters, singing up the hearth and healing energy of the earth at Homelands community, a gorgeous rainbow community that has been established for nearly fifty years. The water is clear and pristine, the forest lush and wild with animals and plants flourishing.

Thank you to Uncle Micklo Jarrett who heard the song and offered to translate the chorus to his language, the song of the country which sung it through me. And so I share with deep gratitude and respect for Uncles devotion to keeping culture and language alive.

Thank you to my friend and incredibly talented pianist @conoralexanderr for accompanying me. I am excited to share that he will be joining me at @woodfordfolkfestival in the Labyrinth this year to share my original music.
