Описание к видео Carrie Nation, "Moses" (unreleased 1970s rock from Chico/Grass Valley/Atlanta)

Carrie Nation was a rock band originally formed in the early 1970's by residents of Chico, Grass Valley, and Nevada City. After gigging around Northern California, the band took note of the booming music scene in Atlanta, with several members relocating there to launch a modified lineup (which appears on these recordings).

Carrie Nation had a lot of horsepower on tap, with multiple talented vocalists and songwriters, as well as guitarists skilled in the southern-rock style. Their demo eventually found its way into the hands of San Francisco promoter Bill Graham, who booked the band into his Winterland Ballroom in 1976.

Vocalist and songwriter Charlie Williams later went on to the Bay Area rock band Mistress, and contributed the song "Whose Side Are You On" to the soundtrack of Bette Midler film "The Rose." The band's other vocalist, Doc Halstead, later worked for Bill Graham.

These tracks were recorded at two prominent Atlanta studios while the band was shopping for a record deal. The first three tracks in the associated playlist were recorded in 1975 at The Sound Pitt in Atlanta, GA, engineered by Tony Reale (Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick, Molly Hatchet). The last two are from a 1974 session at Studio One in Doraville, GA, engineered by Rodney Mills, who would also record albums for Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, and Journey, among many other known artists.
