How to Make a DIY Cup Snowman for Christmas | DIY Holiday Decorating Ideas - Tutorial by Crystal Best

Follow along with me and Chase to learn how to make a fun snowman out of CUPS for the holiday season.

You can add this crafty decor to any area of your home for a fun and unique addition to your Christmas home decorating.

This is such a fun and cute addition to any home for the Christmas season and the kids LOVE it. He is HUGE and stands at 5 feet tall so it’s really something to see!

Here’s what you need for this craft!

1. 393 Styrofoam cups in the following sizes – 6 oz, 8 oz and 12 oz (amounts below)

2. Seven (7) 3 inch circles of Black cardstock for his eyes and buttons

3. Orange card stock made into a cone for ‘carrot’ nose - Get it here - https://amzn.to/3QBZPvc

4. Sticks for his arms (mine are 13 inches long)

Gather everything and have fun creating!!

Here are the amounts of cups I used for the different sections of this snowman.

Head (6oz/180 ml cups)
• Top half from base – 17, 15, 11, 5
• Bottom half from base - 17, 15, 11
• Total – 91 cups
Upper body (8oz/225ml cups)
• Top half from base – 19, 17, 13, 8
• Bottom half from base - 19, 17, 13, 8
• Total – 114 cups
Lower body (12oz/340ml cups)
• Top half from base – 26, 24, 21, 17, 12
• Bottom half from base - 26, 24, 21, 17
• Total – 188 cups
GRAND TOTAL – 393 CUPS

****PLEASE note that not all cups are the same size, some cups are taller and thinner and shorter and wider but are the same oz size so these exact amounts may not work for you. Once you start your base layer keep adding cups until it can close comfortably with the base and rim of each cup touching!
