Race 5 of the fiesta zetec championship in Mondello International.

And we are off!!!! The 2022 championship went ahead as planned in April and we will be aiming to finish in a higher position again and hopefully have a podium at one of the races or even at the end of the 2022 season.

With Covid-19 in the background we still advise to maintain hand hygiene and social distance wherever possible and to be respectful of your own and everybody else personal space and practices...Spectator attendance last year was amazing but this year we have seen a huge increase in the paddock and more and more cars on the grid every year. this year we have 40 cars registered for the championship( almost double last years 21), if government guidelines permit spectators will be able to attend all races in the future.

For race 5 I qualified in 16th place while attempting to overtake slower cars that wouldn't move out of the way and defending into corners where I was clearly able to overtake because I was quicker.
And in race 5 making a great start and getting up to 13th place on turn 2 and losing my wing mirror i still was able to progress somewhat despite being hit from behind and losing my exhaust on turn 7B and being spun on turn 1 of lap 3 and dropped back to 22nd I was fortunate enough to race my way back and finished 18th. although I finished 18th i was promoted to 16th because of issues 2 of the lead cars had in scrutiny and they received an exclusion from race 1.
due to the amount of damage my car sustained i was unable to repair the car to the standards which the stewards required which cost me valuable championship points and put me out of the running for bettering my result of last year.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my mechanics.. my dad and Dave for getting me through a few obstacles which arose before the races that needed repair and for my Friend Andrew brady who on the day was able to repair the damage i sustained in race 1 and also a shout out to my sponsors
