Talk title:
BAO Peak Measurements Using Photometric Survey Data
Speaker:
Christoph Saulder

Talk abstract:
We use photometric data from the DESI Legacy Imaging Survey DR9 to measure the angular diameter distances and the H0 parameter. In particular, we take advantage of the photometric identification of luminous red galaxies for the ongoing spectroscopic part of the DESI survey and the photometric redshifts derived for all objects in the imaging dataset. In order to recover the BAO peak, which gets washed out by the photometric redshifts, we use the perpendicular wedges of the two-point correlation function and mock catalogues. In this context, I will also discuss the impact of slightly different target selections on the galaxy bias and the correlation function. I will provide our most recent results on the D_A measurements and discuss the hemispheric biases and how they relate to other BAO measurements.
