Mont Ventoux from Bédoin (France) - Indoor Cycling Training

Mont Ventoux is one of the most legendary climbs in the world. People from all over the world come here to tackle the 'Giant of Provence'. And for good reason. It has it all. Extremely beautiful scenery, lots of cycling history, a challenging route, and many appearances in the Tour de France. In fact, Tour de France loves this climb so much that they did an epic double climb in 2021. This ride features the popular approach from Bédoin. In the first segment, you will ride among the vineyards. After a while, the vineyards are replaced with forest and steeper gradients. The segment through the forest requires stamina. It is long, hot, steep, monotone and with no wind to cool you down. A real killer… But if you make it through this segment, chances are good that you'll make it to the top. Once you leave the forest, you are welcomed by a jaw-dropping landscape that almost makes you forget the pain in your legs. The last kilometer (Flamme Rouge) is quite difficult. It has double-digit gradients of up to 14 percent. But the view from the top is worth every pedal stroke. Not only is this a true bucket-list ride, but many would argue that if you can do only one bucket-list ride in your life, then this, the ‘Balded Mountain’, should be the one.

Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is outstanding. But with music, opinions are very mixed. So we have added no music. Instead, we recommend adding your favorite music to the ride. It is quite simple. Mute YouTube and open a browser window. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, YouTube, etc…) and pick the music you like, and enjoy the ride... We have left the original sound of the ride out. This is because the noise from passing cars, vibrations from the road, wind, and the rider's breathing drowns the natural sound of the surroundings.
