As part of my Human in the Loop experiment, I'm building a one-person publishing business. The outcome I'm aiming to achieve? A website that loads fast on mobile and passes Google's Core Web Vitals. The Wix blog app was giving us 45-50 mobile speed scores. Not good enough!

🔥 THE PROBLEM: The Wix blog app comes loaded with AI features, reference fields, and operational bloat that negatively impact mobile performance.

💡 MY SOLUTION: Split collections architecture - operational backend collection for content production, clean frontend collections for display only.

What I demonstrate:
• Collection splitting methodology that boosted mobile speed to 85
• Backend code setup for automated content publishing between collections
• Production workflow with AI integration buttons for content enhancement
• Frontend collection structure - minimal reference fields, converted images to WebP
• Real performance comparisons and why this approach works

🔧 THE TECHNICAL APPROACH: Export from the Wix blog app, create an operational collection with all the production fields you need, then use backend code to push clean data to the frontend display collections. Strip out reference fields, flatten HTML, optimise images.

THOUGHT: I haven't tried this, but perhaps you could keep the WiX Blog app and mirror it to a lean front-end collection. It may work and give the same speed benefit if you don't need all the AI processing we are working on.

KEY INSIGHT: Don't fight the platform - work with it. Wix isn't designed as a publishing platform, but you can bend it far enough to get decent performance for content marketing.

🎯 THE RESULT: Mobile speed scores of 80-85 consistently, even on long-form articles with multiple embedded images.
