A short and sweet video that I originally created for TikTok to give a breakdown of the current fees for Etsy and Shopify as of April 2023. This is based upon my research and experience with both companies.

I was limited to 3 minutes, so my primary goal was to cover the fees since that is what prompted me to go back to Shopify. If you have any questions let me know and I'll do my best to answer them.

As I mention in the video, I recommend having both. They each have their pluses and minuses. Etsy has higher fees but it has more traffic. You will have to build your own traffic for Shopify, but the fees are significantly less and you do not have certain restrictions that Etsy does (like offering Reiki healings). You can use Etsy as an additional way to build your Shopify customers. An easy way of doing this is by creating business cards that will direct your Etsy customers to your Shopify website.

There may be other ecommerce platforms that are better than Shopify. This is just the one that I have experience with and can recommend. I hope this helps for those who have been debating on starting their own Shopify website. Good luck to you!
