K2 Black Panther and K21 KNIFV: Korean Power Duo

For decades, South Korea relied on upgraded imports like the American Pattons, British Centurions, and even German Leopards. That era ended with the K2 Black Panther and K21 KNIFV.

These two machines mark South Korea’s break into the top echelon of armored design: a main battle tank that goes toe-to-toe with the world’s best, and an IFV that marries amphibious mobility with heavy armament.

The K21 KNIFV and K2 Black Panther will be joining the MWT: Tank Battles roster at Tier III and Tier IV with the next event!


K2 Black Panther
Although it’s one of the newer tanks around, the K2 has already proven its pull on the international scene. Poland is bringing it to replace older Leopards, making it a rare case of fresh design muscling in on ground held by Europe’s most famous tank.

Armaments:
CN08 120 mm firing K-STAM II HEATFS guided missiles — 850 mm of armor penetration at 753 m/s.
Equipped with an autoloader for a 4.5-second base reload speed.
Protection: Multilayer composite armor and the Israeli-made Trophy APS.
Mobility: MT883 Ka-501 engine giving the tank a top speed of 75 km/h.
