Object Permanence is the understanding that objects continue to exist even they cannot be seen. It's something that babies only learn at about 18 months. As perfectly illustrated by our kid, who seems to think the cucumber simply ceases to exist when covered with a coconut shell. It's as funny and it is informative... Enjoy!
