RUSTY CAR REPAIR Part 11, PROJECT JAGUAR XJ, ENGINE REMOVAL, Welding test, Welding floor panel...

Описание к видео RUSTY CAR REPAIR Part 11, PROJECT JAGUAR XJ, ENGINE REMOVAL, Welding test, Welding floor panel...

Hello Jaguar XJ and classic car enthusiasts, here is another episode about the restoration of my rusted JAGUAR XJ 1994 X300 SOVEREIGN 4.0.
In this video I make a welding test on 3 pieces of metal, as I'm struggling since the start of the project. I found finally that when we apply the "weld thru primer" on the side of the welding it's making bubble. We should put only on the reverse side, between the 2 pieces to weld.

I have also finished the floor panel and the rocker panel, outer sill and lower footwell panel.

We also remove the engine from the Jaguar XJ as there's some more rust to treat in the engine bay.
It was a funny moment as the wind was very strong this day and weather really freaking cold

Cheers and enjoy the video !

The Jaguar XJ X300 (1994-1997) is a not so popular model for restoration projects, only the XJR become a true expensive collector. She is like the black duck in the Jaguar model range, but it's really a valuable and interresting car.
A full restoration project for this vehicle would typically include the following steps:
Body work: Repairing rust, dents, and other damage to the body.
Paint: Sanding, priming, and repainting the vehicle to the original color or a new color of the owner's choice. In my case I will paint her by myself to her original paint code.
Interior: Cleaning, repairing, and reupholstering the interior to restore its original appearance. In the worst cases of course, lucky me mine just need a new headliner, a common issue in the Jaguar XJ range.
Mechanical: Rebuilding or replacing the engine, transmission, suspension, and other mechanical components to ensure proper functioning. I'm lucky again as the engine is very good, just need a few gaskets and general cleaning.
Electrical: Repairing or replacing electrical components to ensure proper lighting, heating, and air conditioning.
Finishing touches: Installing new trim, badges, and other cosmetic elements to complete the restoration.
The amount of time and cost required for a restoration project depends on the extent of the work needed and the level of detail desired by the owner.

Thanks for watching and any comments would be really appreciated.
Cheers
