last year my father helped us take down two willow trees in our front yard and I kept a branch to try and make something in the lathe. A year after I had the idea to make a replica of Gandalf's pipe. Now, I have no experience whatsoever in pipemaking or the physics of how pipes work. I read that soft woods like willow can be toxic to smoke through and I don't intend to use this pipe either. it's mostly for display.
