These are the first initiatives of Shakuntala Kali Puja. On the Saturday night immediately following Krishna Tritiya in the month of Baisakh, robbers worshiped Kali and started the whole year of robberies. At that time, mother's bed was under a huge horse tree. There was a blood-stained pot. A group of vultures were nesting on the tree, greedy for meat and goat meat. That is why this thana is called Shakuntala Kali Mae Thana.
