A curious situation occurred at the end of the Azerbaijan GP and after the checkered flag. After all, due to the accident between Sainz and Perez on the penultimate lap, the race management decided to activate a virtual safety car, where drivers must reduce speed and cannot approach, much less overtake, the cars in front.

However, after crossing the finish line, Verstappen began to accelerate and overtook the cars in front, starting with Lando Norris. Verstappen even waved to Norris as he passed in a friendly manner. But, without wasting time, the McLaren driver ratted Verstappen out on the radio.
