Revisiting Jaromir Jagr's 2006-2007 Season with Rangers (35 Goals)

In his second full season in New York, Jagr played all 82 games and put up 30 goals (5 playoff goals) and 66 assists, totaling 96 points in another strong campaign as a Ranger.

On October 5, 2006, just before the inaugural game of the 2006–07 season against his former team, the Washington Capitals, Jágr assumed the role of the 24th captain in the New York Rangers' history. Mark Messier previously held this position, who retired before the 2005–06 season. In an impressive debut as captain, Jágr swiftly scored a goal within the first 30 seconds of the new season.

Achieving a significant milestone on November 19, 2006, Jágr netted his 600th career NHL goal against Tampa Bay's goaltender Johan Holmqvist. This accomplishment marked him as the 16th player in NHL history to reach such a scoring feat. Notably, Jágr and his power play linemate Brendan Shanahan both reached the 600-goal milestone in the same season, a unique occurrence in NHL history.

In a game against Washington on February 10, 2007, Jágr contributed to Michal Rozsíval's goal, earning his 1,500th career point. This made him only the 12th NHL player to reach this impressive point total, and he achieved it as the fourth-fastest player, following in the footsteps of Marcel Dionne, Mario Lemieux, and Wayne Gretzky.

On April 5, 2007, during a match against the Montreal Canadiens, Jágr scored his 30th goal of the 2006–07 season, marking 15 consecutive seasons with 30 or more goals. This achievement tied the NHL record held by Mike Gartner.

Despite a regular season affected by a shoulder injury, Jágr led the New York Rangers to a sweep of the Atlanta Thrashers in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. However, their playoff journey came to an end in Game 6 of the Conference Semifinals against the Buffalo Sabres.

Further etching his name in the record books, on November 14, 2007, against the New Jersey Devils, Jágr scored his fourth goal of the 2007–08 season at the Prudential Center in Newark, becoming the first player to score a goal in 53 different NHL arenas.
