Jung identified five psychological weights that quietly prevent people from reaching what he called Psychological Wholeness — genuine integration where you are no longer at war with yourself.
The first is the Persona: the social mask that, over time, stops being something you wear and becomes something you believe. When the gap between performance and self grows large enough, the Shadow erupts without warning.

The second is shadow projection — the unconscious habit of placing your denied qualities onto others. Jung documented how a single person's unexamined Shadow can reorganize an entire family or workplace through what he called collective possession.

The third is participation mystique: not just approval-seeking, but a full dissolution of psychological boundaries where your internal state is dictated by the collective around you.

The fourth is the victim narrative — specifically, what happens when pain becomes identity and the repetition compulsion keeps recreating the original wound with new people.

The fifth is social illusions: the cost of seeing through collective agreements, and the danger of Psychic Inflation when that perception is never integrated with humility.

The path forward is individuation — Jung's process of becoming consciously, completely yourself.
