Despite having beaten Devourer, everyone's still trapped in Ravenford. It seems there's a music box that may be the key to ending whatever force has bound everyone to the fortress, and there's four paintings and four statues that interact with the box.

Ravenford is much larger than I thought. Each of the areas which contains a painting has a decently long challenge just to get to it. On top of that, I had to travel quite a ways before I even had even gotten the ability to summon Umbra.

Changing my control scheme via the Steam controller overlay was such a huge help. I'm not sure why games are so desperate to use the right analog stick when it's clearly a detriment to the game - especially in this case where you can't even move while aiming.

Once I finished collecting statues at each of the paintings, I could return back to the music box and see about placing everything on the pedestals in order. Like the feathers, the statues offer a bit more insight into the game's backstory. In this case, a troubled king was approached by a stranger as the "true Night" was imminent. The stranger's offering had some impact on his next child, which seemed to have infused it with what I'd guess is the power of the night (Vesper's situation with Umbra?) - and also killed his wife(?). That encounter seemed to have corrupted him and/or left him surrounded by night creatures, so I'd guess he might remain as a sorrowful late-game / final boss encounter.

However, the description of the character waiting on a throne also seems to match the boss that I encounter immediately after -- Adelram, the Fallen Crow. This boss is remarkably much tougher than Devourer, with a ton of different attacks, tricky dodges, a very distinct second form, etc. The challenge was further compounded by me still getting familiar with my updated control scheme. Also, the boss heals. I'm not really opposed to that, but it it definitely forces me to divert my attention when the boss already has a very tricky pair of spells that cannot be simply avoided by proximity - they're positionally locked to Vesper and just deal damage with a set timing.

I decided to switch from the Spear to the "Lacerators", a set of claws I had picked up earlier. Faster attacks mean that I can recover a little more quickly in case I need to dodge, plus I get to recover more ammo as I'm attacking. The Lacerators also seem to have at least slightly higher DPS. After the weapon switch, I made short work of the boss, finally freeing Ravenford - which now takes on a much friendlier appearance.
