Hey all!

Hope you enjoy this unboxing and talking tech on the Note 20 Ultra 5G from Manila, Philippines.

Hopefully this phone will take me through 3 to 5 years until foldables are more affordable, in-display cameras are more refined and possibly port-less technology is more mature.

So far, the battery life and heat performance are worse than I expected after heavy usage yesterday outside. Also, I did a bit of research and my understanding of periscope was totally wrong and I kind of find the 5x zoom a bit useless as it is actually fixed at 5x and any change other than 0.5x, 1x and 5x, there will be some digital processing (not ideal). So in this respect, the iPhone's telephoto lens is so much more usable. If only they could find a way to have that 5x zoom variable to an optical/mechanical range like 2x to 5x. That would be really great.

Nonetheless, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G is my best phone of 2020 by far. Nothing else comes close to the features, hardware, user experience, support and just overall package for a person like me that loves design and tech. For the average person, the iPhone 12 Pro might be the way to go, or the Asus Zenfone 7 Pro or some phone from OnePlus.

I was also able to test 5G in Molito, Alabang. I got speeds around 250 mbps. It's nowhere near as close to what US/Korea 5G gets but it's still pretty impressive. This phone definitely feels like the next frontier for now until the next which is again probably affordable foldables/scrollers, in-display cameras and port-less future.
