Music and Lyrics by Duncan Sheik

GRAMMY and Tony Award-winning musician Duncan Sheik’s American Psycho: Original London Cast Recording will be available on March 25, 2016 via Concord Records. The album’s release will coincide with the show’s U.S. premiere on Broadway, with previews beginning March 24 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater at 236 West 45th Street in New York City.

The album features the cast of the highly acclaimed, sold-out run in London, which the London Times called “pure, decadent pleasure” and the Sunday Express called “funny and superbly staged…the most stylish production of the year.” The album is executive produced by Sheik, David Johnson and Jesse Singer. All instrumentation is by Sheik and the album was mixed and mastered at his Sneaky Studios in Garrison, NY and in Parliament Hill, London.

This London cast recording features Matt Smith (best known for his role as the Eleventh Doctor in the BBC science fiction series “Doctor Who,” for which he received a BAFTA Award nomination) as Patrick Bateman, Gillian Kirkpatrick as Patrick’s Mother/Mrs. Wolfe, Cassandra Compton as Patrick’s secretary Jean, and Susannah Fielding as Patrick’s girlfriend, Evelyn Williams. The London cast also included Ben Aldridge, Charlie Anson, Jonathan Bailey, Katie Brayben, Holly Dale Spencer, Simon Gregor, Holly James, Lucie Jones, Tom Kay, Eugene McCoy, and Hugh Skinner.

Set in the excess of 1980s Manhattan, American Psycho is based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis and tells the story of Patrick Bateman, a young and handsome Wall Street banker who pursues his darkest American dreams. Directed by Olivier Award-winner Rupert Goold (King Charles III), American Psycho has a book by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (“Glee”) and choreography by Tony Award nominee Lynne Page (La Cage Aux Folles).
