Geleen Sports Park, The Netherlands. 11/6/84
This festival appearance at the legendary Pink Pop in The Netherlands was the last time the band thought they would be playing 'The Crossing' live set before moving onto phase two of their career, the recording of the second album Steeltown.
As it turned out, it was the second to last time as the band were late inclusions at Elton John's 'Summer of '84' concert at Wembley Stadium at the very end of June, 1984 - included at the last minute as a replacement for Paul Young who was ill.
This video is notable for being the only complete live concert featuring 'The Crossing set list'. The only omission here from the regular sets of 1983/1984 is Harvest Home - not played on this occasion - most likely to fit the band's allocated set run-time of the festival.
On the bill earlier in the day were Marillion and Dio. Big Country's set began at 5.45pm and although not everyone in the crowd had come to see them, by the reaction they got from the crowd, you can see and hear they were certainly glad they stayed and Big Country would have made a lot of new fans that day.
