The Fiat 2300 Familiare estate, a rare and desirable car in its heyday, is now one of only 12 roadworthy models left in the UK. Owned by Ian Salmon, this 1967 Fiat is also the only right-hand drive example with an automatic transmission. The Fiat 2300 was introduced in 1959 and was known for its Pininfarina styling and Aurelio Lampredi-designed engines. While it was intended to appeal to US buyers, it was more commonly used by officials in its home market. British sales began in 1961, and the car was seen as a more exotic alternative to British executive cars of the time. The Fiat 2300 was praised for its performance, comfort, and style, and it was well-appointed with features such as reclining backrests, a heating and ventilation system, and a hand throttle. Production of the Fiat 2300 ended in 1968, and the car is now considered a rare and appealing classic.
