Fortynine (49) Palms Oasis Trail | Humble Hiker

Forty-nine (49) Palms Oasis aka Lost Oasis is located on the north end of Joshua Tree National Park just south of the of 62 Freeway.
There is no entrance fee or parking permit required at the trail head. There is a small restroom near the trail head if you need to do you business before heading out on the trail. It’s approximately 2.8 miles from the beginning fo the trail to the Oasis. The entire trail is well maintained and clearly marked. There is very little shade on the way to the Oasis, so make sure you bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunblock to protect yourself from sun expose. I highly recommend doing this trail early during the day because it tends to get fairly hot in the desert heat. Once you reach your destination, the Oasis is an awesome sight. These palm trees are specifically called Fan Palm Trees, which are native to California. Majority of the common palm trees you see in Southern California are not native and were imported back in the 1930s.
