[EDIT 2024/04/16] petite description rapide en français : fin 2020, un mois ou deux avant la fin de ma garantie, @Samsung @samsungmobile a poussé une mise à jour de Galaxy Note 9. Dans un premier temps, elle a causé des bugs intermittents. Ah ? OK, ça ira mieux à la prochaine. Non ! C'est devenu définitif. Il y a eu débat : pur bug logiciel ou pépin matériel. Il en ressort que cette mise à jour a causé un problème matériel définitif. Ceux qui on entendu parlé de ça et ont attendu sans appliquer cette mise à jour n'ont jamais eu le problème.
Donc @Samsung est RESPONSABLE mais N'ASSUME PAS. Les discussions que j'ai eu avec le support ont été lamentables. Solutions de robot téléphonique dans un premier temps, classique et ridicule reset usine (avec perte de donnée malgré l'utilisation du logiciel de backup @samsung conseillé). Pour terminer par un royal : on vous offre les frais de port pour une réparation payante. Réparation qui, selon quelques retours, se paye la moitié du prix du téléphone neuf.
Heureusement, j'ai trouvé quelques contournements, pénibles, mais qui permettent dans certaines conditions d'avoir un affichage normal.
Parce que oui, le bug ne se manifeste que si le téléphone de "réveille" d'une certaine manière.
Mais, et c'est le plus rapide que j'ai trouvé, avec le Always On Display actif, et la reconnaissance d'empreintes digitales, l'affichage reste normal.
Par contre, un réveil par le bouton sur le côté ou par un appel téléphonique, et c'est l'écran vert assuré.
@samsung, vous avez oublié ce qu'est un client il y a trop longtemps.
(NB: ce sont les mêmes qui se sont foutu de la gueule de @apple quand ils ont supprimé le connecteur jack et qui l'ont fait ensuite eux même. Pareil pour la batterie remplaçable par le client. Pignoufs)

[EDIT 2023/02/03] Here's a new explanation, a new chronology of what may have happened
- step one : end of 2020, @Samsung @SamsungMobile released an update for the Note 9. This update could have been a software update causing an hardware failure
- step two : the first reports of #GSOD, green screen of death, begin to surface
- step three : @Samsung releases a new update without the problem, without acknowledging the problem
- step four : @Samsung rejects the problem on their _clients_, and what to make them pay for a repair of a problem this company is responsible of
I hear from someone close that he heard about potential problems with the step one update, waited the the next, and then only updated his wife's phone. No problem so far. So, yes :
@Samsung : you must repair for free, period.

[EDIT 2022/08/09] I've learned few things since the publications of this video :
- thank you for the views ! I'm no "youtuber" (have a look to my other video : mostly poor sim racing races between friends ...) and this video has more than 48000 views ! I never thought it would reach this level !
Anyway, share, name and shame, @Samsung @SamsungMobile must feel our anger over the way they bury this problem under the mat
- this problem in not limited to the Note 9 : I've read comments from people owning N8, N10, S8, S9, S10, Axx ... Not sure of all the models, not sure the list is exhaustive either ..
- there may be one or two improvements to the workaround described in this video :
* first, using the finger print reader may bring a gain of one step in the unlocking process.
* then, using the Always One Display, configured to really display something always (thanks Mr Obvious ! But look closer to the settings, it's not that simple !), there is no need to wake the phone properly before unlocking. AOD + finger print reader leads to fastest unlocking so far when suffering from the bug
- the problem may be HW. I was always convinced that it was caused by the late 2020 updates only. But there may be an electronic component that fails but allows for the workaround anyway

[April 2021] Initial comment :
Since the end of 2020, Samsung introduced, and never corrected, a software bug in its Galaxy Note 9 software/FW.
The consequence ? Using the most common ways to wake up the phone brings up an ugly green screen.
Only a double tap of the screen can wake it up properly.
This video shows how reproducible this problem is.
Move you ass Samsung!!!! Quick!
