This is my account of my psychotic prodrome (the first phase of psychosis and sometimes considered the “warning” phase). I talk about my experience that began with religious delusions and "premonitions." They were… quite intense. My symptoms evolved gradually over 1-1.5 years, characterized by increasingly severe religious preoccupations, belief in special powers, and communication with who I believed was god. It was… pretty all encompassing, and grew to be quite terrifying by the end.

The experience began pretty mild, which I talk about, but progressed to include more threatening and unforgiving religious delusions. I started to withdraw from others, all the while keeping up with obsessive documentation of my experiences (I have three journals of what happened to me). It’s important to note that while I am quite self aware of my psychosis now, at the time of the events I talk about in this video, I had no awareness that these experiences were symptoms of psychosis. I fully believed in their reality until they eventually culminated in an acute psychotic break.
