Queenstown Fly Fishing NZ | Back Country Hike & Camp

I head off hiking into the Otago back country to camp out and fish some of the more remote water. I'm rewarded with solitude and incredible gin clear water holding loads of smaller rainbows.

The top section of my rod snapped about 3 hours after I started fishing but luckily I was able to cast - despite losing the top 3 eyelits!

All up I landed over 10 fish, saw some explosive takes on dry flies, and lost a bunch more fish.

Thanks Otago for an epic adventure and another incredible piece of New Zealand wilderness!
