As the Lord Jesus hung, dying on a cross, having been beaten and scourged, and with His blood pouring out of His body, and His soul being poured out as an offering for our sins, He uttered the immortal words, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do”.

What manner of love is this, that the Holy God of all creation should willingly forgive sinners who have so terribly offended Him? Can you love like that? Can you forgive like that for the sake of preserving your relationships with others who have offended you? And yet, that is precisely what the Lord is teaching us to do as He works to conform the believer to the image of His Son Jesus.

In this 16th installment of the sermon series on Christian Character in Action, Pastor James Knox guides us through those scriptures that reveal the tremendous power of forgiving others for their offenses against us and how, through the power of forgiving others, you can be free from bitterness, anger, and resentment and restore those broken relationships in your life.
