Almost everyone hikes Besseggen with the grand view behind them. We hiked in the opposite direction, from Gjendesheim to Memurubu, and scrambled down the Besseggen ridge in Jotunheimen, Norway.

By scrambling down the Besseggen ridge in Jotunheimen, Norway, you will be amazed by the incredible view that you can enjoy with every step you take down the ridge. You may also feel the height a bit more and get a bit more adrenalin as you feel a bit more exposed on the ridge when you look down all the time. It's wise to start the hike early as you need to keep in mind that you need to catch the boat at Memurubu to get back to Gjendesheim unless you are planning to spend the night at the Memurubu cabin. Alternatively you can hike back along Gjende Lake or you could obviously hike back over Besseggen if you're in really good shape!
