On March 23, 1992, the STS-50 crew conducted bailout training at Johnson Space Center’s Weightless Environment Training Facility (WETF). The session practiced using the crew escape system through the shuttle hatch to prepare for emergency egress scenarios.

Launched on June 25, 1992, STS-50 marked a significant milestone in space exploration as NASA's longest Space Shuttle flight to date. The mission's primary focus was on the United States Microgravity Laboratory-1 (USML-1), advancing our understanding of microgravity's effects on science and technology.
