This doesn't really alter too much of the original events on the show, but it does emphasise on how Rey never found any real closure as to why Kriya ended things the way she did.

What he's starting to learn, slowly but surely, as they spend time together, is that she doesn't feel the same way about him at all.

Perhaps, making his peace with it would be so much easier if his questions were answered.
