Fun fact: When I was a kid I met a bunch of friends at the local cinema. I arrived early and so I waited in the lobby, and that's when I heard it and saw it. Outrun, with it's awesome pneumatics, fun game play and incredible music soundtrack. I was so hooked that I ditched my friends and spent the rest of my money playing it all afternoon, and when I had nothing left I watched other people play. Just as long as I got to hear that wonderful music.

The music had a big impact on me, particularly Splash Wave, which is the subject of this video. I've been threatening to recreate for the past 30 years, and now it's finally out of my system I can get on with the rest of my life.

The original was composed by Hiroshi Kawaguchi in 1986, and this is my modern interpretation, complete with modern beats and virtual instruments.
