Hello everyone, I'm ChessCrazyGO, a YouTuber specializing in Go tutorials. On my channel, I upload short Go tutorial videos every week to help you learn Go from scratch.

In this video, we learned about the basic life and death shapes from two to six points.

First, we mentioned that a stone with only one or two liberties is considered a dead stone. Next, we introduced three-point shapes, including straight three and bent three. The key to a straight three is the center position - if the black stone occupies the center, it forms two live eyes, whereas if the white stone occupies the center, the black stone will die. The key to a bent three is the corner position. Similarly, if the black stone occupies the corner, it forms two live eyes, but if the white stone occupies the corner, the black stone will die.

Next, we introduced four-point shapes, which include live shapes, shapes that require the first move to live, and dead shapes. The live shapes consist of bent four, straight four, and lightning four, each having two central points. If the white stone occupies one of these points, the black stone can form two live eyes. The shape that requires the first move to live is called a pyramid four, where the black stone needs to occupy the center to live, but if the white stone occupies the center, the black stone will die. The dead shape is called a square four, where regardless of the black stone's initial position, it will turn into a bent three, and if the white stone occupies the corner position, the black stone dies.

Moving on, we introduced live shapes for five-point and six-point patterns. Most of them are live shapes, except for specific situations where the black stone needs to play first to live.

Finally, we mentioned two exceptions: bent four and rectangular six that occur in the corners. A bent four in the corner can potentially die, and a rectangular six in the corner can also potentially die depending on the shape on the board. This video provides an explanation of the basic life and death shapes from two to six points and introduces these exceptional situations.
