Learn how to make hair butter which targets dry, frizzy hair and split ends. Plus, it also turns frizzy dry pieces of hair into soft, bouncy curls. This stuff is amazing. If you want healthier, shinier, or softer hair - you're in the right place! Hair butter can be applied in many different ways (detailed below).

RECIPE
If the recipe states "butter", use a butter of your choice. Items in parenthesis "()" indicate specific ingredients that I used. NOTE: Making substitutions or adjustments may impact the final product.

WATER PHASE: 250 grams distilled water, 20 grams Panthenol powder (optional)
OIL PHASE: 100 grams butter (shea), 150 grams oil (75 grams each of castor/jojoba oil), 25 grams Glyceryl Stearate & PEG-100 stearate, 25 grams Cetearyl alcohol {I try not to use more than 1 emulsifying wax, but this wax combination worked best to get the perfect cream consistency}.

DIRECTIONS
Heat the oil phase until everything is melted, then heat the water phase to roughly the same temperature. Combine the 2 phases with a stick blender. Once mixture is below 150 degrees Fahrenheit, add [30 grams] fragrance oil and [2 grams] preservative. Use stick blender once more. You may pour it in a squeeze bottle right away. Cure for 24 hours in which the butter will develop structure and a thicker consistency. Once cured, package it as is OR whip it first.

APPLICATIONS - apply hair butter to dry, damaged, or frizzed areas only. Do NOT apply it to your roots or healthy areas of hair.
Hair mask: Apply it to dry/frizzy hair, like the ends. Thoroughly work the butter in the hair. Wrap or pin your hair up and let it sit for a while (30 minutes - 1 hour). You could even lightly heat the hair butter for deeper penetration. Rinse hair.
Conditioner: Apply to hair as you normally would a conditioner.
Leave in conditioner: after washing your hair, while it's still wet, apply a little bit to damaged hair, focusing on the ends.
Hair balm: warm a little bit between your palms, then rub it on small sections of hair at a time, focusing on frizzy areas.
