Perfect Two (Extended Version)

A couple days ago two great girls and friends of mine died in a car accident. They had made a video to the song "Perfect Two" a couple years ago but it did'nt have an ending. I thought i would try and finish this unfinished masterpiece in thier loving memory. I hope everyone likes it.

A few dozen students and teachers quietly gathered in a Belvidere North High School cafeteria this morning, many wiping away tears over the sudden loss of two students in a car accident Friday night.

Mourners placed a small memorial at the site of the crash, Illinois 76 just south of Caledonia Road in Boone County, with flowers, a card addressed to one of the victims and the last pieces of the wreck that claimed the lives of Thalia Arredondo and Brenda Gutierrez, 16-year-old cheerleaders in their junior year.

"It's been tough on the kids and staff, and the community is really taking this hard," Superintendent Michael Houselog said.

Grief counselors were available as students and teachers filtered in and out of the school all morning. Many friends and well-wishers have visited a YouTube video that the girls had made with each other a few days before the accident — a compilation of pictures together, short clips and cheer moves.

The accident occurred about 5:30 p.m. The girls were traveling south on Illinois 76 when the driver lost control in the curve.

The car traveled into the northbound lane and was struck on the passenger side by a Chevy sport utility vehicle.

The SUV driver suffered a broken leg, Boone County sheriff's Sgt. Dan Reid said. The driver and three other occupants in the SUV were taken to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford; their injuries were not life-threatening.

Arredondo and Gutierrez were pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary autopsy results show that both died from chest and abdominal trama, Boone County Coroner Rebecca Wigget announced today.
