Initially known as The Urinals, and known for the raucous performances in LA through the late 70’s. 100 Flowers grew from the decaying matter of the punk scene amongst the band members growing musical talent. They however never lost their identity in the move from one entity to another (despite the loss of a few band members). Before this recording they put their first 7” single out known as “Presence of Mind,” and not long afterward would release their first album which was self titled. After this they went back into the studio with Vitus Mataré (at his home studio) proceeding to record their final work. Shockingly they would break up soon afterwards leaving a vast and varied body of work behind. Occasional reunions would follow, but “Drawing Fire” was the last gasp of a dying age. This performance encapsulates that energy of the late 70’s punk movement slowly albeit inevitably becoming the next age of music.
