Exploring HAUNTED DOBROYD MILL (Built 1829) – Abandoned Places UK

The now Abandoned Georgian Dobroyd Mills was built in 1829 and was originally a Water-Powered Mill in West Yorkshire.

The Dobroyd Mills Company textile business was founded on the site in 1919 by William Haigh and at its peak in the 1960s the company employed almost 600 workers.

The mill closed in 1974, but was re-opened in 1976 under John Woodhead Ltd spinners.

Inside we found an Abandoned Shopping Mall and Café plus the remains of some of the products that were manufactured. Up Until 2017 there was also a Classic Car Restoration Firm.

The Mill is also believed to be Haunted due to the fact that on 8th May 1869 Mary Webster sadly drowned herself and her illegitimate infant in the Mill’s Dam.
