How to open a non-screwed cassette in order to carry out any necessary repairs (reattaching leader ribbon or pressure pad repair) without the need to transfer tape to another shell.

Your were listening to an old “demo tape”. All tracks originally recorded on a Fostex reel-to-reel machine ( 8 –track tape), then transferred to 4-track audio cassette.

Tips:
Use a good pocket knife with a quality edge ( swiss army , etc…)
Use a guitar pick ( medium thickness)
Use instant bonding glue
Use as little glue as possible
Avoid touching any internal components with bare hands!
Always have spare parts available from “donor cassettes” as well.
