As a result, the ancients put nature first in cultivation.
A program was held at Nalanda Paddy Field, Naula, Matale on the 22nd of this month to impart that knowledge to the children about the agricultural activities of the past which were not seen at present but are sweet only to a few.
The program was organized by a group of teachers under the guidance of Ananda Kanahera Arachchi, Principal of Nalanda Sudarshi Primary School.
Paddy and vegetable cultivation is carried out in both the Yala and Maha Kanda areas of the Nalanda paddy field which is fed by the Nalanda Reservoir.
The objective of this program was to impart knowledge to the school children on various activities ranging from land preparation to harvesting in paddy cultivation and the children also had the opportunity to experience a number of practical experiences.
සාම්ප්‍රදායික තොවිතැන් කලාව තුළින් සිය ජිවිතය සරිකර ගත් පැරණි ගැමියා තුළ වු නිර්ව්‍යාජ භාවය නිසාම ඔවුුහු සොබාදහමට අසිමිතසේ ආදරය කලහ.
එහි ප්‍රතිඑලයක් ලෙස පැරැන්නෝ වගා කටයුතු වල දි සොබා දහමට මුල් තැන දි කටයුතු කලහ.
වත්මනේ එවැනි කෘෂිකර්න්තයක් දක්නට නොලැබුන ද පිරිසකට පමණක් මිහිරක් වු අතීත කෘෂිකාර්මික කටයුතු සම්බන්ධයෙන් කුඩා දරුවන්ට ඒ දැනුම ලබාදීමේ වැඩසටහනක් පසුගිය දා (22) මාතලේ - නාඋල, නාලන්ද වෙල් යායේ දී පැවැත්විනි.
නාලන්ද සුදර්ශි ප්‍රාථමික විද්‍යාලයේ විදුහල්පති ආනන්ද කනහැර ආරච්චි මහතාගේ මග පෙන්වීම යටතේ ගුරුභවතුන් පිරිසක් විසින් වැඩසටහන සංවිධාන කර තිබිනි.
නාලන්ද ජලාශයේ දිය දහරින් පෝෂණය වන නාලන්ද වෙල් යායේ යල සහ මහ කන්ද දෙකේම වී හා එළවලු වගා කටයුතු සිදුකරනු ලබයි.
වී වගාවේ බිම් සැකසීමේ සිට අස්වනු නෙලීම දක්වා වූ විවිධ කාර්යයන් සම්බන්ධ යෙන් වු දැනුම පාසල් දරුවන්ට ලබාදීම මෙම වැඩසටහනේ අරමුණ වූ අතර දරුවන්ට ප්‍රායෝගික අත්දැකීම් රැසක් මෙහිදි අත් විදීමට ද අවස්ථාව හිමි විය.
