STRATEGY SUMMARY:
The purpose of this advertisement is to critique the business practices of a well-known Swedish clothing Company, H&M. The company’s vision statement claims to make fashion sustainable and its mission is to drive long-lasting positive change and improve living conditions by investing in people, communities and innovative ideas (H&M, n.d.). However, our advertisement will take a satirical take on the workings of the company. Our video will parody the advertising campaign by H&M called “#ConsciousAds” and highlight the impact fast fashion creates on the world. Fast fashion is a term used to express the phenomenon of clothing designs that move quickly from the catwalk presentation to stores to meet new trends (Investopedia, 2019). Because the demand for fast fashion clothing items is fairly high, a lot of fast fashion companies, including H&M have come under scrutiny for following unethical business practices.
