How to Make a DIY Light Pole for Your Kayak

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to build a light pole for your kayak.

Kayak Light Pole Parts:

1" PVC pipe - Class 200 (also called SDR 21). Do not use schedule 40 PVC pipes since the walls are too thick and the flashlight won't fit inside. You only need about 3-4 inches of it for the flashlight holder.

1x1/2 inch PVC reducing coupler (2 of them)

1 inch PVC end plug (1 each)

1/2 inch PVC pipe - this is your main pole so you can use any length you want. Don't make it too long as that will act as a sail!
