This is the first video in a short course on binary and other number systems.

This course will form part of a larger course on digital systems. It will also be of interest if you are studying computer science, digital signal processing, or any number of related fields.

In this course, we will learn about:
some different numeral systems,
systems in different bases and conversions between them,
the binary system,
various ways to represent binary numbers in electronics,
arithmetic operations on binary numbers,
limits of binary,
and for enrichment and entertainment, some more advanced applications of base-2 coding.
