AMP SHOWDOWN: Germino High Powered Tweed Twin vs. Fender Bonamassa '59 High Powered Tweed Twin

Описание к видео AMP SHOWDOWN: Germino High Powered Tweed Twin vs. Fender Bonamassa '59 High Powered Tweed Twin

So this tone odyssey with the Germino Hi Powered Tweed Twin started this past December when I asked my longtime friend Greg Germino what else he could build for us at Watchtower. He suggested that we do a version of the late '50s High Powered Tweed Twin combo that's so coveted by the rock elite. I thought this was a great idea as we had just gotten a Fender Bonamassa '59 High Powered Tweed Twin in trade and I thought it would be great to do a comparison video. Well with parts shortages and such it took a bit to get the first one here but we really tried to get a lot of cool guitars for everyone to enjoy listening to both amps. I really think it came together great and it turned into a fun project. We used Joe's recommended settings and when the amps are on 9 it was LOUD! You can even see it shake the second camera tripod sometimes. Pretty crazy. We didn't use any pedals during the majority of these clips. There are a few times during the clean sections that Jon used a Klon towards the end but you'll see him step on it otherwise its straight into the amp.

We used a ton of great vintage guitars on this video and one modern era '59 Les Paul Murphy Lab. This was a lot of fun!

As to which is better or as I hear things different let your ears decide. They're both great amps and we love the Fender version that we used. With that said I think this amp of Greg's is great and I think people will enjoy playing it. The Germino used the WGS ET65 speakers and this amp was new out of the box. We will offer Celestion Speaker upgrades for the production run if the customer would like the Celestion version of the G12/65's. Watchtower Guitars will be taking orders for this exclusive amplifier run of the Germino High Powered Tweed Twin and the lacquered cabinets are already on the way. This cream tolex cabinet was for the prototype and pictures of the lacquered version will be posted soon. If anyone is interested in placing an order for the Germino please let us know. Thanks and enjoy!

Also a big thanks to Jon for all of the playing and Emma for the video editing and keeping everything straight. You both have more patience than me.
