Lae School Boys won the Inagural PNG NRL BID Championship- 2024

The Inaugural PNG NRL Bid National School Championships was packed with 2 days of incredible talent, passion, and skill with teams from different parts of Papua New Guinea, some traveling great distances to compete in what was an impressive show of sportsmanship.

The final match was between the two powerhouses Lae & NCD was another incredible match with NCD leading in the first half, Lae had to fight for the win coming back in the 2nd half to put on 3 unanswered tries to secure an important victory over the NCD side with the score 26 to 14 in favour of Lae.

The presentation was an even special one with Prime Minister James Marape choosing to spend his Sunday investing in the future of rugby league in Papua New Guinea, presenting the medals to the runner up team and the trophy to the winners.
