3D Printing isn’t the greenest hobby out there as we use plastic as our consumable. One can lower their impact by buying filament that’s recycled. But what if you could up-cycle used bottles into filament. Here comes the pet machine from @tylmandesign you may have seen this machine if you’re no stranger to 3d printing as it’s been around for years. It’s always been something I was curious about. Watching the design improve over the years reading up on the process, the build, practicality, quality. Even Looking for old 3d printers to maybe upcycle into a pet machine. @tylmandesign reached out and asked if I wanted to test and review his design. This was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up, as I needed to know. Well the verdict is in. And the pet machine is a winner. It delivers in creating filament from bottles and the quality of the print from it is perfect. You do need to follow the directions and set the correct profile but a quality print is achievable as I did all of this on my first try. While I don’t think it’s possible for me to fully commit to printing like this all the time. But I sure want to try as the process of making the filament can be enjoyable. It’s certainly satisfying using it and seeing the results. In a doomsday zombie scenario I’m set so long as I have access to bottles.
