I had no idea I was going to make this video until I sat down at the computer and started putting my short clips I recorded

This is from the bus tour, with the voice of Jeanette Pierce, our guide & co-founder of InsideDetroit, It was about a 3 hour tour I broke down to approx. 12 minutes here/

I was on that tour bus, plus I grew up here, moved out myself for a while but came back & still live in Detroit. The tour opened my eyes to many new things happening plus I have seen certain areas we went by go down into the dumps but climbed its way out of again, that alone is very impressive since I once worked very near an area many years ago we went by, and if any area in SW Detroit can do that, so can the rest!
It would server people well to shift their focus on the better things in life or you may as well just pull the covers back over your heads and never live at all, cuz that is just like any child would do when afraid of something, hides under the covers till someone or something convinces them it is ok to come out. That is how fear OWNS you! You negative folks need to change that mentality and take back ownership of yourselves and not let fear rule your lives forever! Grow up already! Kids don't have enough good role models to follow since most of their own police won't reside in the city, so the kids are naturally going to look up to who they see as 'owners of the hood', be it street thugs. As long as I can remember police HAD to live in the city to be a cop here, but since now they don't, the kids don't see them as any better role models to look up to other than more grown ups afraid to live near them but hypocritically protect it. The police need to be living in the city they serve or it doesn't make much sense to the youth that when they look at the police, they just see them too afraid to live there themselves and cops might as well not be there at all and so the kids follow the criminals who took over that ownership the police once had.

Here's my very condensed version of the 3-hour tour in about 10 minutes thru my eyes. Honestly, I had no idea I was going to make this video until I sat at the computer and started putting the clips I shot together.Cam was 1 of those Free ones you send for only paying postage for.
